Biography of Hank Volberda
Hank Volberda is a Dutch scientist and one of the leading experts in strategic management worldwide. He is known for his contributions to the theory of strategic renewal, coevolution, and the development of new organizational formats and schemes.

Early Life and Education
Volberda was born in the Dutch city of Sneek. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Groningen in 1987. In 1991, he completed his dissertation on organizational flexibility under the supervision of Ton de Leeuw.

Career
Volberda began his career in 1987 as an intern at the Dutch consulting group 'Twynstra Gudde' while also working as an assistant professor at the University of Groningen. In 1991, he moved to Rotterdam and became an assistant professor of strategic management at the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He later became an associate professor in 1995 and a professor of strategic management and business policy in 1998. Volberda currently holds these positions and also heads the strategic renewal program and serves as the deputy director for research at the management research institute of the same university.

Contributions and Awards
Volberda is actively involved with several major scientific publications and serves on the editorial boards of 'Long Range Planning', 'Journal of International Business Studies', 'Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management', 'Management Executive', 'Journal of Management Studies', 'Journal of Strategy and Management', 'Organization Science', and 'Organization Studies'. He has received numerous awards for his research, including the 'NCD Award', 'ERASM Research Award', 'Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Strategy Award', 'Erim Impact Award', 'SAP Strategy Award', and others.

Published Works
Volberda has authored several significant scientific and educational projects, including 'Building the Flexible Firm: How to Remain Competitive' and 'De Flexibele Onderneming: Strategieen voor Succesvol Concurreren'. His book 'Rethinking Strategy', co-authored with Tom Elfring, was released in 2001 and received considerable acclaim. His most recent work, 'Strategic Management: Competitiveness and Globalization', published in 2011, is currently used as a textbook in many leading business schools in Europe. Volberda continues to update and improve his works, with one of his more recent books, 'Innovation 3.0', already having undergone one reprint.
Additional Work and Collaboration
In addition to his teaching and research at the university, Volberda works as a visiting scientist and lecturer at other universities. He is known to collaborate with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the City University Business School in London.
