German architect Herman Gottlieb Helmer was born in 1849 near Hamburg. He initially studied in Ninburg before continuing his education at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts.

"Fellner & Helmer": The Architectural Duo

In 1873, Helmer co-founded the architectural firm "Fellner & Helmer" with Ferdinand Fellner in Vienna. The firm designed and constructed approximately 48 theaters throughout Central and Eastern Europe, showcasing a blend of Renaissance and Baroque styles.
