Biography of Hervé Léger

French designer Hervé Léger is recognized as a pioneer in creating 'bandage' dresses, which beautifully shape the figure like a corset, and therefore capable of making the figure simply perfect. Hardworking Hervé Léger, who is extremely popular due to his provocative style and close connection to youth fashion trends, founded the French fashion house 'Hervé Léger', currently known as 'Hervé L. Leroux'. The fashion house 'Hervé Léger', established in 1985, was forced to change its name after losing the rights to its previous name. Consequently, the designer-founder also goes by Hervé L. Leroux.

Acquisition by BCBG Max Azria Group

In September 1998, the 'Herve Leger' fashion house was acquired by the BCBG Max Azria Group, a subsidiary of the major corporation 'Seagram'. This was the first instance in history when a French couturier was acquired by an American designer. In April 2007, the commercial genius and designer Max Azria, who gained popularity in the USA with the brand 'BCBG', relaunched the 'Herve Leger' brand under his leadership with the 'Capsule Collection Summer'. This fashion line became available for sale in select department stores and specialized boutiques.

Boutique on Rodeo Drive and New York Fashion Week

In August 2007, the renovated 'Herve Leger' boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills was opened. In February 2008, Max Azria presented the 'Herve Leger by Max Azria' collection at Bryant Park in Manhattan as part of the Fall 2008 New York Fashion Week. The best seats at Hervé Léger's shows are often filled with actresses and celebrities dressed in exclusive bandage dresses from the 'Herve Leger' brand. Among the fans of the French couturier's creations are Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth, and Rihanna.
