Biography of Frank Sorbier

Frank Sorbier was born in France in 1961. He grew up like any other child, going to school and then to university. After completing his education, he worked for renowned French fashion designers Chantalle Thomas and Thierry Mugler. In 1987, Frank Sorbier decided to launch his own clothing brand.

Success in the Fashion Industry

Sorbier's collection quickly gained recognition and was sold in world-famous boutiques such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and the Japanese brand Seibi. Since 1995, the designer has been collaborating closely with the jewelry house "Cartier," and in 1996, he became a member of the Federation of Haute Couture, Ready-to-Wear Fashion, and Fashion Creators. In 1999, Frank Sorbier expanded his design repertoire to include eyewear for the brand "Vuarnet."

Costume Design for Opera

In 2005, Sorbier began creating costumes for opera productions, starting with the ballet "Traviata." In 2008, he worked on designing opera dresses for a French adaptation of tales by Hoffmann.

A Journey into Gastronomy

In November 2008, Sorbier embarked on a new venture in collaboration with the chef of the popular Parisian restaurant "Café de la Paix," Laurent Delabre, and pastry chef Guillaume Caron. Together, they developed a dessert called "Charm of Happiness." Shaped like a four-leaf clover with four heart-shaped petals, the dessert could be shared among friends or loved ones. Transitioning from fashion to gastronomy presented its challenges, but Sorbier successfully embraced the opportunity.

Recognition and Exhibitions

In 2009, the French government granted Frank Sorbier the exclusive opportunity to showcase his collection in twelve of the best Parisian shop windows. Additionally, in March 2009, he presented 108 different clothing designs at the Textile Museum in Lyon. The exhibition, titled "Fashion of Soul and Body," showcased Sorbier's work throughout his career, including models, sketches, and cardboard samples. In the beginning of 2009, a book dedicated to Frank Sorbier was released in France. It includes over 300 photographs of the designer's creations, interviews with him, and his personal photos.
