Early Life and EducationHilary Alexander was born and raised in New Zealand, where she pursued studies in art history. She subsequently moved to Australia, before briefly residing in Hong Kong. It was in Hong Kong that Alexander's path intertwined with fashion, as she secured a journalism role covering the industry for 'China Mail.'
Career in Fashion
After eight years in Asia, Alexander relocated to London and accepted the position of Fashion Editor at 'The Daily Telegraph.' This role propelled her to the forefront of the global fashion scene, granting her access to the most exclusive runways and illustrious designers. Alexander became a fixture on the front row at major fashion shows, rubbing shoulders with industry icons. Her extensive travels for professional assignments left little time for personal pursuits, but she confessed to harbouring numerous aspirations and projects.
Alexander's expertise earned her an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Design from Nottingham Trent University and a Visiting Professorship at the University of the Arts, London. She also imparted her knowledge at the London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea Art College, and Camberwell College of Arts. She was recognized with awards from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and twice named 'British Fashion Journalist of the Year.'
Broadcasting and Television
Beyond her journalistic work, Alexander possessed extensive broadcasting experience. She appeared on programs such as BBC 2's 'Style Challenge' and GMTV, and made frequent contributions to BBC projects. She also served as a style consultant on the first season of 'Britain's Next Top Model.' Alexander's television appearances extended to Germany, France, Spain, Russia, and China.

Departure from 'The Daily Telegraph'
In 2011, Alexander announced her plans to depart from 'The Daily Telegraph' after several months, intending to pursue a new chapter in her career focused on archaeology.
