Andrew Hozier-Byrne, known by his stage name Hozier, is an Irish musician who gained recognition for his work with various groups such as Anúna, Trinity Orchestra, Zaska, and Nova Collective. Born on March 17, 1990, in Bray, County Wicklow, Hozier developed an interest in music from a young age. He sang in a choir and frequently performed in school shows, which eventually caught the attention of professional groups.

At the advice of his music-loving parents, Hozier enrolled at Trinity College Dublin. However, he spent less than one semester there as he couldn't focus on his studies when opportunities for work in the music industry arose. Soon after being expelled, Hozier began recording with Niall Breslin, a popular Irish pop-rock musician, at Universal Ireland Studios.

Around the same time, Hozier joined Trinity Orchestra, an ensemble comprised of students from his former college. Interestingly, this collaboration began after Hozier had already completed his academic career, but it didn't hinder their productive work. In 2013, Hozier released his debut EP, "Take Me to Church," which became an instant hit. The title track reached the second position on the Irish singles chart within days of its release. Hozier primarily recorded the EP himself, occasionally inviting his musician friends to assist with recording and mixing. While it is too early to speak about the prospects of his solo career after just one album, critics are already predicting global fame for Hozier. They claim that in a few years, Bono, the most popular musician in the country, may have a genuine competitor in Andrew Hozier-Byrne.
