Early Life and Amateur CareerJulio César Chávez Jr. was born in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico on September 29, 1980. He is the son of legendary Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Sr. From a young age, Chávez Jr. displayed a natural talent for boxing and began training under the guidance of his father. As an amateur, he compiled an impressive record of 102-12 and represented Mexico in various international competitions.
Professional Career
Chávez Jr. made his professional debut on February 22, 2000, at the age of 19. He quickly climbed the ranks, winning his first 25 bouts by knockout. In 2006, he captured the vacant WBO Light Flyweight Championship, becoming the first-ever Mexican to hold a world title in that weight class.
Title Reign and Controversies
