Givanildo Vieira de Souza: The Hulk
Born in Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, on July 25, 1986, Givanildo Vieira de Souza, known globally as Hulk, is a Brazilian professional footballer who currently plays for Atlético Mineiro.

Early Life and Career
Hulk grew up in a poor family as the only son among seven children. He worked odd jobs to support his family, and football became his passion despite their financial struggles. He began his professional career with Esporte Clube Vitória in Brazil.

Success in Japan
In 2005, Hulk joined Kawasaki Frontale on loan in Japan. He impressed during his time there and moved to Consadole Sapporo the following year. He scored 25 goals in 2006, earning recognition as the league's top scorer. In 2007, he played for Tokyo Verdy on loan, scoring 37 goals in 42 matches and won the league's top scorer award again.

Arrival at FC Porto
After returning to Kawasaki briefly, Hulk signed with F.C. Porto in Portugal in 2008. He quickly established himself as a valuable asset and was included in UEFA's Top 10 Rising Stars in 2008.

Rise to Stardom
In 2010, Hulk scored 16 goals in the first 16 matches of the season. He won the Portuguese Championship Player of the Month award six times between September 2010 and January 2011, a record no other player has matched. In May 2011, Porto purchased the remaining 35% of Hulk's rights from Uruguay's Renistas.

Transfer to Zenit Saint Petersburg
In September 2012, Hulk moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia for a transfer fee of €40 million. He won the Russian Premier League title in 2015 and the Russian Super Cup in the same year. Hulk scored 77 goals in 148 matches for Zenit.

International Career
Hulk made his international debut for Brazil in 2009. He represented his country at the 2012 Olympics and scored his first international goal in 2012 against Denmark.

Move to China and Return to Brazil
In June 2016, Hulk joined Shanghai SIPG in China for a transfer fee of €55 million. He won the Chinese Super League title in 2018, scoring 13 goals in 25 matches. In 2021, Hulk returned to Brazil to play for Atlético Mineiro, where he remains to this day.
