Huntress: American Heavy Metal Band
Huntress, an American heavy metal band, was formed in 2009 in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Vocalist Jill Janus joined forces with the underground metal band Professor.
Debut and Napalm Records
In 2010, Huntress released their debut EP, "Off with Her Head." In November 2011, the band signed with Napalm Records. Their debut album, "Spell Eater," was supported by the single "Eight of Swords."
Internal Turmoil
In October 2015, Janus announced via Facebook that Huntress was disbanding, but she would continue in music. However, guitarist Blake Meul denied her statement, citing nervous exhaustion, and affirmed the band's continuation.
Tragedy and Uncertain Future
On August 14, 2018, Jill Janus committed suicide outside Portland, Oregon. The band's future remains uncertain in the wake of her passing.
