Early Life and Education
Ibrat Anvarovich was born in Tashkent on September 4, 1948. Initially aspiring to become a doctor, he later opted for engineering after the 1966 Tashkent earthquake. He graduated from the Tashkent State Technical University named after Beruni.
Career as an Engineer
During his university years, he participated in various student internships, including the construction of the Charvak Reservoir and the Ust-Ilim Hydroelectric Power Station. He also worked as a dispatcher during the damming of the Angara River.
Beginnings in Television and Radio
In his first year of university, Anvarovich's charisma led him to be invited as a news anchor for the Uzbek SSR State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting.
Leadership in Construction and Agriculture
After graduating, he moved to Karshi, where he worked for the Karshistroi administration. He oversaw the construction of the Karshi Magistral Canal and 40 new state farms, contributing to the creation of 200,000 hectares of agricultural land.
Rise in the Gas Industry
In 1981, Anvarovich became Deputy General Director of Uzbekneft (now Uzbekneftegaz). He played a crucial role in Uzbekistan's gas independence, facilitating the first gas exports in 1995. Under his leadership, the Bukhara Oil Refinery was commissioned, the first in Uzbekistan built with modern international licensing technologies.
Political Career
From 1998 to 2000, Ibrat Anvarovich served as Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz. His contributions to the country's energy and economic sectors earned him national recognition and respect.
