Icchak Kaldoron Adizes - Scientist, Economist, Management Theory Specialist
Born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, Icchak Kaldoron Adizes is a renowned scientist, economist, and specialist in the field of management theory. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1963. Subsequently, he received his Master's degree from Columbia University in 1965. Three years later, Adizes obtained his Ph.D. from Columbia University as well.
Military Service and Early Career
From 1959 to 1961, Adizes served as a sergeant and instructor at the School of Young Leaders in the Israeli Defense Forces. Following his military service, he joined the research department of the Bank of Israel. In 1967, Adizes ventured into the consulting business, offering his services to corporate leaders, presidents, and prime ministers from around the world.
Academic Achievements and Contributions
Throughout his nearly 40-year academic career, Icchak Adizes gained worldwide recognition for his contributions to three branches of management theory and the influence of workers on decision-making - self-management, industrial democracy, and joint management. In 1969, he launched the world's first educational program for management in performing arts, encompassing opera, dance, and musical productions.
The Adizes Graduate School for the Study of Change and Leadership
In 1975, Icchak Adizes worked at the Institute for Managerial Diagnosis & Organizational Research in Los Angeles until 1979. His extensive research led to the publication of numerous books, articles, video, and audio courses. Adizes traveled around the world delivering lectures on various topics. Moreover, his research findings, originally derived from his doctoral dissertation, were applied practically in 50 different countries, benefiting non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
Adizes established his own educational institution, the Adizes Graduate School for the Study of Change and Leadership, where he currently serves as the Dean. In 2006, the Canadian government granted Adizes permission to organize a faculty at the University of Canada.
