Igor Armaș: Moldovan Footballer with a Remarkable Journey
Early Life and CareerIgor Armaș was born in Moldova and began his football career in the youth academy of Zimbru Chişinău at the age of 14. He moved to the club's reserve team, Zimbru-2, in 2005, and made his professional debut the following year.
Breakthrough at Zimbru
In 2007, Armaș joined Zimbru's first team and quickly established himself as a key player. He helped the team secure second place in the Moldovan championship and won the Moldovan Cup that season. However, his progress was halted by health issues that required multiple surgeries.
International Recognition
Despite his setbacks, Armaș returned to form later that season and earned recognition as the best defender in the Moldovan championship in 2008. His performances caught the attention of Hammarby IF in Sweden, where he signed a four-year contract.
Success in Sweden
Armaș became a regular starter for Hammarby, playing 27 matches in the Swedish league in 2009. His outstanding performances earned him the title of Hammarby's Player of the Year.
Transfer to Kuban Krasnodar
In 2010, Armaș moved to FC Kuban Krasnodar in Russia. He made his debut for the club in the Russian First Division and scored his first goal in the 2010 season. Kuban won the First Division that year, securing promotion to the Russian Premier League.
International Debut with Moldova
Armaș made his international debut for Moldova in 2008. He competed in six qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
