Igor Gunko: Ukrainian Statesman
Early Life and EducationIgor Gunko was born on December 28, 1975, in the village of Buriaky, Berdychiv district, Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the Zhytomyr Agrarian College in 1995 with a degree in agricultural mechanization. In 2001, he completed his education at the Zhytomyr Engineering and Technological Institute, earning a degree in organizational management and the qualification of manager-economist.
Career in Private and Public Sector
From March 2003 to February 2004, Gunko worked in the private enterprise "Yuzhnoye" in the village of Buriaky. Subsequently, he held various roles in the public sector, including:
- Head of the executive committee of the Zhytomyr city organization of the People's Union "Our Ukraine" (July 2005 - May 2006)
- Deputy head of Zhytomyr for executive bodies of the council (May 2006 - November 2010)
- Director of LLC "Elitnoe" in the village of Buriaky (October 2012 - April 2016)
Political Career
On April 29, 2016, Gunko was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration. On September 1, 2016, he assumed the role of Acting Chairman, and on October 27, 2016, was officially appointed Chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration. He held this position until June 24, 2019.
Throughout his political career, Gunko has focused on economic development, infrastructure improvement, and social welfare in the Zhytomyr region.
