Early Life and Education

Oleksandr Hryhorovych Kaletnikis a Ukrainian politician and statesman who was born in 1966 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. In 1993, he graduated from the Vinnytsia State Agricultural Institute with a degree in agronomy. He later earned a postgraduate degree in accounting and auditing from the same university in 1999. In 2001, he received a law degree from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2004, he successfully defended his dissertation and obtained a Candidate of Legal Sciences degree.

Career in Customs

Kaletnik's career in customs began in 1995.He held various positions within the Vinnytsia Customs, including Inspector, Deputy Head of Department, and Head of Department. From 1998 to 1999, he served as Deputy Head and then Head of the Podilska Regional Customs. He also worked as Head of the Kherson Customs, Rava-Ruska Customs, Halytska Customs, and the Razdelnyanska Customs. From 2002 to 2005, he rose through the ranks within the State Customs Service of Ukraine, eventually serving as Head of the Black Sea Regional Customs and Director of the Department for Combating Customs Offenses.

Political Career

Kaletnik entered politics in 2006.He initially ran on the list of Natalia Vitrenko's Bloc, but it failed to enter parliament. However, he was later elected to the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian parliament) as a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine in 2007. He served as Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Combating Organized Crime and Corruption. In 2010, he was appointed Chairman of the State Customs Service of Ukraine by the new Ukrainian government.

Accomplishments and Recognition

Kaletnik has received numerous awards and honors for his work.He is an Honorary Customs Officer of Ukraine and a Distinguished State Counselor of the Customs Service. He was also awarded the "For Conscientious Service in the Customs Authorities of Ukraine" medal.

Family Background

Kaletnik's father, Hryhorii Mykolaiovych Kaletnik,is a Member of Parliament for the "Party of Regions" faction and a former Governor of the Vinnytsia Oblast.
