Igor Plastun

Early Career

Igor Plastun began his football journey at the age of 13, joining the prestigious Shakhtar Donetsk youth academy. He honed his skills in the DYuFL (Junior Football League of Ukraine), representing DYuSSh-13 (Kharkiv) and Shakhtar (Donetsk).

Breakthrough at Shakhtar

In 2004, Plastun was promoted to Shakhtar-2, the reserve team. He made his senior debut for Shakhtar in the Ukrainian Premier League on November 27, 2005, in a match against Dnipro (2:2).

Loan Spells

Seeking regular playing time, Plastun was loaned to various clubs. In 2006, he joined Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, followed by stints at Zorya Luhansk (2008) and Illichivets Mariupol (2009).

Return to Donetsk

In June 2009, Plastun was loaned again, this time to Metalurh Donetsk. He made his debut on July 19, 2009, against Dnipro (0:0).

International Career

Plastun represented Ukraine at various youth levels (U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19). He also played for the Ukraine U-21 team, captaining the side on five occasions.

Injury Setback

In a friendly match against Bulgaria on March 27, 2007, Plastun suffered a severe injury. He was diagnosed with a fractured fibula, a torn lateral ligament in his shin, and a subluxation of his ankle joint. The injury required surgery.

Family Background

Plastun's father was invited to join CSKA Moscow at age 16, but his parents chose not to allow it. Igor also has an older brother.
