Igor Kovalevich
Early Life and Football CareerIgor Kovalevich was born in Belarus and began his football career in Antopol, Belarus. His first coach was Valery Yakimov. He trained at the Brest SDYUSHOR-5 and became a master of sports.
As a player, Kovalevich played as a right-back for various teams, including SKIF Minsk, Metallurg Molodechno, Luch Vladivostok, Dynamo Brest, Dnepr Mogilev, Dynamo Tyumen, Irtysh Tobolsk, Belshina Bobruisk, Gomel, Neman Grodno, Slavia Mozyr, and Khazar Lankaran.
Playing Achievements
During his playing career, Kovalevich achieved significant success, becoming a two-time silver medalist and three-time bronze medalist in the Belarus Premier League. He also won the Belarus Cup twice and the Azerbaijan Premier League silver medal.
Coaching Career
NaftaKovalevich joined Nafta in 2005 and became interim head coach in April 2007. In July 2007, he was appointed as the permanent head coach. Under his leadership, Nafta finished 7th in the Premier League, matching the club's record achievement.
In 2009, Kovalevich led Nafta to its best achievement as a coach, winning the Belarus Cup. He also gained recognition as "Coach of Fortune" for his successful substitutions in previous seasons.
Belarus U-21
In February 2009, Kovalevich was appointed as the coach of the Belarus U-21 national team.
Education and Personal Life
Kovalevich graduated from the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture in 1990. He is married to a flight attendant for Belavia.
