Biography of Igor Kriushenko

Igor Kriushenko is a former Soviet and Belarusian football player and current Belarusian football coach. He was born on April 1, 1961, in Minsk, Belarus. Kriushenko started his football career at the SDYUSHOR-5 football school in Minsk and was trained by M. M. Mustygin.

Playing Career

As a player, Kriushenko represented the youth team of the Soviet Union. He played for several clubs during his career, including Minsk's "Dinamo" reserve team from 1980 to 1984, Grodno's "Khimik" from 1985 to 1986, Lida's "Obuvshchik" in 1986, Frunze's "Algu" in 1988, Aktobe's "Aktobe" in 1989, Aldan's "Metallurg" from 1990 to 1993, Yakutsk's "Dinamo" from 1994 to 1995 (as a player-coach), Ulan-Ude's "Selengu" in 1996, and Mogilev's "Torpedo-Kadino" in 1997.

Coaching Career

After retiring as a player, Kriushenko transitioned into coaching. He started his coaching career with "Torpedo-Kadino" in 1998 and then served as the coach of the farm club "Smena-BATE" from 1999 to 2000. From 2001 to 2004, he coached the reserve team of FC BATE, and from 2005 to 2007, he was the head coach of BATE. In November 2007, Kriushenko became the head coach of Minsk's "Dinamo" until September 2008.

From December 2008 to May 2011, Kriushenko was the head coach of Novosibirsk's "Sibir." In December 2010, he completed coaching courses in Moscow and obtained a Pro license. From November 2012, Kriushenko served as the head coach of Zhodino's "Torpedo-BelAZ."

On April 1, 2017, Kriushenko was appointed as the interim head coach of the Belarusian national team, while also remaining the head coach of "Torpedo-BelAZ." In July 2017, he left his position at "Torpedo-BelAZ" to focus on the national team. Under Kriushenko's guidance, the Belarusian national team finished last in their group during the qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. However, his contract was extended for another year in November 2017.

In 2018, the Belarusian national team achieved victory in their group in League D of the UEFA Nations League, without conceding a single goal. However, in 2019, they started the qualification for the UEFA European Championship 2020 with four consecutive defeats. On June 13, 2019, Kriushenko left his position as the head coach of the national team by mutual agreement with the Belarusian Football Federation.

In December 2019, Kriushenko became the head coach of the Indonesian club "TIRA-Persikabo." He left the position on November 23, 2021. In December 2022, he became the head coach of Brest's "Dinamo," but he left the position on April 18, 2023, following an unsuccessful start in the Belarusian Premier League.
