Early Life and Education
Born in 1933, the Soviet statesman and party figure completed his education at the Semendyayevskaya School in 1948. He subsequently joined the Komsomol Youth Organization in 1950. After graduating from the Kalyazin Machine-Building Technical School in 1952, he moved to the Kurgan region.
Career in Komsomol
During his initial years in Kurgan, he worked at the Shadrinsk Printing Machine Plant. His Komsomol involvement began in 1954, and he became a member of the Communist Party (CPSU) in 1955. He held the position of First Secretary of the Shadrinsk City Komsomol Committee and later served as Secretary and Second Secretary of the Kurgan Regional Komsomol Committee.
Political Ascension
From 1963 to 1965, he led the Kurgan Industrial Komsomol Committee. Subsequently, he moved to the CPSU, holding the position of Second Secretary of the Oktyabrsky District Committee in Kurgan from 1964 to 1965. In November 1965, he was appointed First Secretary of the Kurgan Regional Komsomol Committee, a role he held until 1969.
In 1967, he obtained a degree in Equipment and Technology of Welding Production from the Kurgan Machine-Building Institute.
Return to Shadrinsk and Party Leadership
From 1969 to 1974, he served as the First Secretary of the Shadrinsk City CPSU Committee. From 1974 to 1978, he headed the Department of Organizational and Party Work in the Kurgan Regional CPSU Committee.
Regional Leadership Roles
In 1980, he graduated with honors from the Academy of Social Sciences under the CPSU Central Committee. He then held the position of Chairman of the Kurgan Regional Committee for People's Control from 1980 to 1985.
Subsequently, he became First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Kurgan Regional Council of People's Deputies, serving from 1985 to 1988. In 1988, he assumed the chairmanship of the Party Control Commission under the Kurgan Regional CPSU Committee.
Deputy Chairman of Regional Council
Elected as Deputy Chairman of the Kurgan Regional Council of People's Deputies in 1990, he served in this capacity until 1993. From October 1991 to February 1992, he acted as Chairman of the Council.
Later Career and Retirement
Upon retirement, he continued his service as an assistant to two members of the Russian Federation Council, O.A. Bogomolov and O.E. Panteleev.
Awards and Family
He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, two Orders of the Badge of Honor, and several other medals.
He married Nina Matveyevna, and they had two children: a daughter, Irina, who works in banking, and a son, Sergei, who is employed in the apparatus of the Kurgan Regional Duma.
