In the 2008-2009 season, the pair competed in only one "adult" Grand Prix event, the NHK Trophy, where they placed 5th. They made their European Championships debut, finishing 14th, and had a disappointing performance at their final World Junior Championships, coming in 12th.

Before the 2009-2010 season, Sergeeva and Glebov changed coaches. They moved to Toruń, Poland, to work with Mariusz Siudek. At the 2009 Nebelhorn Trophy, they placed 9th and secured a qualifying spot for Estonia in pair skating at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
