Early Life and Education

Born into a peasant family in the countryside, this Soviet aviator began his career as a shepherd. His education took him to an agricultural technical college, and in 1932, he joined the Communist Party (VKP(b)).

Military Career

Entering military service in 1934, the aviator served in the Pacific Fleet's air force before relocating to the Northern Fleet. In 1939, he graduated from the Yeisk Naval Aviation School.

World War II

Assigned as a deputy squadron commander in the 36th Mine-Torpedo Aviation Regiment of the Northern Fleet, the pilot flew 68 combat missions from late 1943. His notable achievements included the sinking of two transports, a trawler, and a barge, along with assisting in the destruction of six ships and five enemy warships.

Post-War Career

After the war, the aviator continued his training, graduating from the Higher Aviation Tactical Courses of the Navy in 1950. He served as a test pilot until his untimely demise on June 30, 1956, while performing his duties.

Legacy

Posthumously, his wartime memoirs, "Over Five Seas," were published in 1964, preserving his experiences during the conflict.
