Early Life and Training
Inna Sopina, born on July 1, 1988, in Cherkassy, Ukraine, began her artistic journey early. With a background in classical ballet and modern choreography, she excelled in junior disco and hip-hop competitions. She also mastered jazz-pop vocals and gained proficiency in DJing. After graduating from high school, she relocated to Moscow and pursued acting at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS), where she studied under Alexander Gurevich. Graduating with honors in 2011, she continued her education at Nikita Mikhalkov's Academy of Cinematographic and Theatre Arts in 2016 and later pursued directing at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK).
Stage and Screen
As a student, Sopina debuted on stage in productions including "Hanuma," "Pygmalion," "The Taming of the Shrew," and "Treasure Island." She portrayed Marina Tsvetaeva in the musical "Silver Age." Beginning in 2009, she co-hosted the children's television channel "Karusel" and participated in the educational show "Fa-sol" as the character "Smeshinka." In 2010, "Fa-sol" was awarded the TEFI Award.
After graduating, Sopina expanded her career to film, appearing in minor roles in "The Hostess of White Nights," "I'll Be Back Soon," and "Seven Pages of Fear." In 2019, she debuted as a director and screenwriter with the short film "Leap." She also played a supporting role as Sonya in the detective mini-series "Birch Grove."
Music and Other Endeavors
Sopina has actively pursued her musical interests as well. She has been part of the female trio GoWonderChicks! and the cover band Carpet Plane. She has collaborated with Dmitry Malikov as a backing vocalist, DJ, and actress in his charity masterclasses "Music Lessons."
Beyond her creative pursuits, Sopina is also an avid painter, hockey enthusiast, and blogger. She runs an educational blog on audiovisual art and literature called "Dama s Polenom" on Telegram.
