Early Life and Education

In 2000, Irina Leonova graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Theatre School and was accepted into the troupe of the Maly Theatre in Moscow, where she had been performing as a student.

Moscow Debuts and State Prize

In 2002, Irina Leonova won the "Best Actress" award at the Moscow Debuts Festival for her role as Sofia in "Woe from Wit." A year later, she was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation for her portrayal of Polixena in "Truth Is Good, but Happiness Is Better."

Theatrical Debut

Upon joining the Maly Theatre, Irina Leonova quickly established herself as one of its leading actresses. Notable theatrical roles included Lydia Cheboksarova in "Mad Money," Natasha in "Bread of Labor," and the French Princess in "Love's Labour's Lost."

Irina Leonova made her film debut in 2001, playing small roles in films such as "We Must Live Again," "People and Shadows," and "Poisons, or the World History of Poisoning." Her breakthrough performance came in 2003 with the role of Kristina in the television series "The Best City on Earth."

Following her success in "The Best City on Earth," Irina Leonova went on to star as Alice in the comedy "The Snail, or It's Not Harmful to Dream" and as Galka in "New Year's Adventures" (both in 2003). In 2004, she played Lena in the acclaimed television series "Children of the Arbat."
