Childhood and Education
Irina Poplavskawas born on September 30, 1996, in Kyiv, Ukraine, to medical parents. She grew up in Odessa until the age of 20, where she attended the current "Fontansky" Lyceum and faced bullying as a good student.
Despite initially considering language studies or mathematics, Poplavska's passion for acting emerged at the age of 12. After graduating high school, she briefly enrolled in the Faculty of Restaurant and Hotel Business at the Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies before realizing it wasn't her path.
Acting Journey
In 2018, Poplavska left Odessa for Kyiv without informing anyone and enrolled in the International University, studying acting under the guidance of Lev Somov. On June 7, 2020, she showcased her talents in several student productions, including "Icarus" and "Bourgeois in the Nobility."
In July 2021, Poplavska performed in "What the French Hide..." and two other plays at the Odessa House of Clowns with the independent project "Theatrical Exchange."
Breakthrough Role
Poplavska's acting career took a dramatic turn in 2020 when she was contacted by a casting director for the Ukrainian adaptation of "Ugly Betty," titled "My Favorite Strashko." As the lead role, Poplavska effortlessly transformed into the character of Nastya Glushko, a relatable and determined young woman.
Personal Life
Poplavska is open with her fans, sharing personal details and her love for her mother and grey cat, Cox. She values honesty and prioritizes her career over romantic relationships.
Current Projects
On February 7, 2022, "My Favorite Strashko" premiered on Russian television, marking the beginning of Poplavska's filmography. The actress continues to pursue her acting endeavors, embracing new challenges and inspiring audiences with her talent.
