Biography of Sadie Frost

Sadie Frost is a British actress, fashion designer, and co-owner of the fashion label "Frost French". She was born as Sadie Lisa Vaughn on June 19, 1965, in London, England. Her parents were artist and psychedelic painter David Vaughn, who worked with "The Beatles", and his muse (then 16 years old), actress Mary Davidson. Frost describes her childhood as "chaotic, with a positive experience". She spent most of her youth in Greater Manchester, a county in western England, after her parents separated. Prior to that, her parents had six romantic relationships between them, and although Sadie is the eldest, her love-filled ancestors produced four sisters and five brothers for her, including actresses Holly Davidson and Jade Davidson; a brother named Gabriel Jupiter and a sister named Sunshine Purple Tara Velvet. According to Frost, one of her stepfathers was a follower of the Bhagwan cult, who prohibited the children from saying the words "no" and "sorry". During a phase of color therapy, her stepfather insisted that everyone in the house wear orange and forbade them from eating anything red. They were also required to take showers, wear training suits, and refer to objects by names opposite in meaning (supposedly going through a character test), for example, calling "apples" "elephants". Where's the logic in that? At three years old, Frost appeared in a commercial for "Jelly Tots" sweets, and by the age of five, she had already worked with the British comedy duo "Morecambe and Wise". She studied at the Italian Conti Academy but gave up her acting career at the age of 13 due to an eating disorder she experienced. Later, she attended Hampstead school. After finishing school, she left home, running away from her parents, and at the age of 19, she performed in a play called "Mumbo Jumbo" at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre. As an actress, Frost mostly received minor supporting roles, including her part in the series "Press Gang" and "Catastrophe". Her first role in a film was as Rebecca in the drama "Dark Obsession", although one of her most memorable roles is playing vampire Lucy Westenra in Bram Stoker's "Dracula" in 1992. She also appeared in the music video for the song "Common People" by the band "Pulp", the song "Not Over Yet '99" by the supergroup "Planet Perfecto" (performed by "Grace"), and various productions by the popular British band "Spandau Ballet", where she met her first husband, Gary Kemp. After the birth of their first child, Frost and Kemp appeared together in the biopic "The Krays". In 1994, Sadie landed a role alongside rising star Jude Law in Paul W.S. Anderson's directorial debut "Shopping". Sadie began a romance with Jude and later, after divorcing Kemp, they played a love scene together in the 1994 drama "Love, Honor and Obey". After her marriage to Jude and having three children together, she reduced her acting career in the late 1990s, focusing on producing (she became one of the founders of the production company "Natural Nylon" along with three British actors: Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, and Sean Pertwee; as well as her friend Damon Bryant) and fashion. The company "Natural Nylon" produced films such as "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" and "eXistenZ" (both starring Jude Law); and "Nora" with Ewan McGregor. Bryant and McGregor left the company in 2002, which was then headed by Jude Law from January 2003, but the company ceased to exist the same year. In 1999, she co-founded the fashion label "Frost French" with her best friend, Jemima French. The label started with women's lingerie and gradually expanded into ready-to-wear and couture collections. In 2004, she wrote, presented, and produced the short series "What Sadie did next" for E4, and in 2005, she appeared in the program "What Sadie did next..." on BBC2. In 2008, Frost made her West End debut in "Touched... For the Very First Time", a one-woman play by Zoe Lewis, directed by Douglas Rintoul and produced by Imogen Lloyd Webber. At the age of 16, while dancing in a music video, she met Gary Kemp from the band "Spandau Ballet" and the couple got married on May 7, 1988 (their son Finlay Munro was born on September 20, 1990). After a romantic involvement with Jude Law, Frost and Kemp's marriage ended in 1997; on September 3, 1997, she became Law's wife. Her marriage to Law brought her three children: son Rafferty (born on October 6, 1996), daughter Iris (born on October 25, 2000), and son Rudy Indiana Otis (born on September 10, 2002). After many instances of Law's infidelity, the couple ended their relationship in divorce on October 29, 2003, with Frost citing mental cruelty from Law as the main reason and a lack of support during her postnatal depression. After two years of tense negotiations, during which Frost took beta-blockers for panic attacks, the couple reached a settlement in 2005 - Frost received a house in Primrose Hill (£2 million), a one-time payment of £4 million, and £15,000 in monthly payments. Since then, the actress has been involved with several men, mainly young actors. Frost is a practitioner of Kundalini yoga, introduced to her by James Melfoy-Sparks. She is also a supporter of charity work. In May 2006, she managed part of the South African Fund through the "Homes of Hope" project. In September 2006, she posed nude for American photographer Bryan Adams for PETA (an organization fighting for animal rights) as part of London Fashion Week. Sadie Frost's nickname is "Little Lisa". She is very close to model Kate Moss (also the godmother of Moss's daughter and a participant in many charitable foundations where the famous model is involved). Their friendship, along with actress Davinia Taylor, became the subject of tabloid discussion in 1990. The three of them spent a vacation together on Moss's father's boat in the Mediterranean Sea with Moss's boyfriend at the time, Pete Doherty, who concealed drugs in Frost's bag. According to Frost's claims, she suffered greatly as several lucrative modeling contracts were canceled, and Taylor even went through rehab, falling into "acute depression" after tabloids reported that she had slept with Frost's then-boyfriend, Barry Smith. Moss and Frost are still close, while Taylor now lives in London with her husband.
