Early Life and Education
Irina Pavlovna Zarubina was born on April 9 (22), 1907, in Kazan. She graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Performing Arts in 1929.
Theatre Career
After graduating, Zarubina joined the Leningrad Theatre of the Proletkult. In 1935, she moved to the Leningrad Theatre of Comedy, where she remained until her passing.
Film Career
Zarubina made her film debut in 1933's "Gроза" and went on to appear in numerous films, including "Иудушка Головлёв" (1934), "Подруги" (1935), and "Пётр Первый" (1938). Her role as Yefrosinya in "Пётр Первый" earned her the Order of the Red Banner of Labour in 1939.
Awards and Recognition
Zarubina was honoured with the following awards and titles:- Meritorious Artist of the RSFSR (1939)
- People's Artist of the Tajik SSR (1944)
- People's Artist of the RSFSR (1951)

Later Life and Legacy
Irina Zarubina passed away on May 20, 1976, in Leningrad. She is buried in the Komarovka Cemetery in Saint Petersburg, where her grave is recognized as a historical and cultural monument. Zarubina's contributions to Soviet theatre and film continue to be remembered and appreciated today.
