Early Life and Education

The Armenian statesman was born in 1969 and graduated from Byuravan High School with a gold medal in 1979. He went on to pursue his higher education at the History Faculty of Yerevan State University, graduating in 1984.

Career Beginnings

Upon graduation, the statesman began organizing lectures at the Yerevan City Department of the "Knowledge" Society from 1984 to 1989. He then served as Secretary of the Spandaryan District Committee of the Komsomol from 1989 to 1990.

Youth and Sports Leadership

The statesman's involvement in youth and sports affairs continued with his appointment as Deputy Chairman of the Youth Union of Armenia from 1990 to 1993. He subsequently became Deputy Head of Youth Affairs at the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, and Youth under the Armenian government from 1993 to 1995.

Political Career

In 1995, the statesman entered politics as a member of the Parliament of Armenia. He served as a member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security, and Internal Affairs. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs in 1997, a position he held until 2003.

Olympics and Sports Governance

The statesman's passion for sports extended to the Olympic movement. He served as President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, he chaired the Committee on Sports under the Armenian government from 2003 to 2007.

Parliamentary and Control Chamber Leadership

In 2007, the statesman was elected as a Member of Parliament and joined the "Prosperous Armenia" party. He was subsequently elected as Vice-Speaker of the Parliament on June 8, 2007. His political career culminated in his election as Chairman of the Control Chamber of Armenia on November 5, 2007.
