Biography of Professor Islam Ibrahimov
Early Life and EducationIslam Ibrahimov graduated from the M. Azizbekov Azerbaijan Industrial Institute in 1943. During his student days, he joined the energetic faculty and worked in the system of Azglavnergo. Subsequently, he led a group in the Central Service of Relay Protection and Automation of the Azerbaijan Energy System.
Academic and Research Career
1948-1958: Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Energy and Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry
From 1948 to 1955, Ibrahimov worked at the Azerbaijani Scientific Research Institute of Energy, conducting research on voltage regulation and transient processes in electrical networks and systems. He defended his candidate's dissertation in 1952.
In 1955, he began teaching special courses at the Azerbaijani Institute of Oil and Chemistry, including electrical networks and systems, mathematical machines, and the fundamentals of computer technology.
Advancements in Electrical Engineering
1959-1972: Institute of Cybernetics and Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry
In 1959, Ibrahimov became the head of the Laboratory of Continuous Action Machines at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR. His research focused on autopilot systems, autometry, and transient processes in non-linear circuits and networks.
In 1970, Ibrahimov defended his doctoral dissertation on the theory, calculation, and modeling of compensated electrical networks and circuits. In 1971, he was elected head of the Department of Electrical Stations at the M. Azizbekov Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. In 1972, he was awarded the title of Professor.
Publications and Recognition
Ibrahimov published over 100 scientific works, including monographs. He actively participated in national and international conferences and delivered scientific reports abroad.
He was a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Izvestiya Vuzov SSSR - Energetika" and various commissions related to energy automation and distribution in the USSR and Azerbaijan SSR.
