Military Career
After graduating from military school in 1973, the individual was appointed as commander of a motorized rifle platoon and company in the Southern Group of Forces in Hungary. From 1978 to 1981, they served as company commander, chief of staff-deputy commander of a motorized rifle battalion, and battalion commander in Ukraine.
From 1984 to 1992, they held the positions of chief of staff of a regiment, regiment commander, chief of staff of a base, chief of staff of a division, and initial chief of combat training of the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Political and Ministerial Roles
From 1994 to 1996, they served as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, concurrently serving as First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic from 1994 to 1999.
From 2000 to 2005, they were a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, chairing the Committee on State Security and serving as deputy chairman of the permanent commission on foreign relations, security, and regional cooperation of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.
From March 2005, they served as Acting Minister of Defense and became Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan in September 2005.
Post-Ministerial Appointments
In May 2008, they were appointed Secretary of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic. In January 2010, they were convicted of abuse of power and stripped of their rank as lieutenant general.
After the April 2010 revolution, they were released and reinstated in their rank. They were then appointed Acting Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Interim Government and later became the government's special representative for resolving the situation in southern Kyrgyzstan.
