Ivan Bisyuk: A Lifetime of Service in Agriculture and Public Administration
Early Life and Education
Ivan Bisyuk was born on January 3, 1962, in the village of Malyy Rozhin, Ukraine. He completed his veterinary education at the Kitsmansky State College in 1982 and subsequently earned a veterinary science degree from the Ukrainian Agricultural Academy in 1987.
Professional Career in Veterinary Medicine
As a young professional, Bisyuk was appointed as the chief veterinarian at the "Sovky" state farm in the Kyiv Oblast. He held this position from 1989 to 1992 and later became the head of the veterinary service for the Kyiv-Svyatoshinsky district (1992-1994). In 1994, he was appointed director of the "Shpytkivsky" state farm.
Government and Political Service
Kyiv Oblast Administration (1996-2005)From 1996 to 2000, Bisyuk served as the head of the Veterinary Medicine Department and Chief State Veterinary Inspector of the Kyiv Oblast State Administration. In 2000, he became the chairman of the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky district state administration, a position he held until 2005.
National Government Roles (2005-2008)
Between 2005 and 2006, Bisyuk held leadership roles in the Kyiv Oblast State Administration, including as head of the Main Department of Agriculture and Food (later renamed the Main Department of Agro-Industrial Development). From 2006 to 2007, he served as the chairman of the State Department of Veterinary Medicine and Chief State Veterinary Inspector of Ukraine.
Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat and Private Sector (2008-2010)
In 2007, Bisyuk joined the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as First Deputy Head of the Department for Coordination of Agricultural Policy. In 2008, he transitioned to the private sector as the director of the Ukrainian representative office of Milkiland BV.
Return to Government (2010-2012)
From 2010 to 2012, Bisyuk resumed his government service. He was appointed chairman of the State Veterinary Medicine Committee of Ukraine, delegate to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), and chairman of the Intergovernmental Council for Cooperation in Veterinary Medicine of the CIS countries. In December 2010, he became the chairman of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine.
Ministry of Agriculture and Apolitical Party Leadership (2012-Present)
Bisyuk was appointed deputy minister and head of the apparatus of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in 2012. He was later promoted to first deputy minister in September 2012. In July 2012, he was elected chairman of the Agrarian Party of Ukraine.
