Early Life and Education
Born in the CountrysideOn May 24, 1937, in the village of Zarechne in the Pokrovsky district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a young boy was born to a family of collective farmers. His name was Mykhailo Skoryk. His father, Vasyl, also served as the chairman of a collective farm.
Skoryk attended Dnipropetrovsk Agricultural Institute, where he studied agronomy.
Career in Agriculture
From Tractor Driver to Brigade LeaderIn his early years, Skoryk worked as a tractor driver at the Mechetne Machine and Tractor Station. He later became a brigade leader at the same machine and tractor station, and then for the Kirov collective farm.
Ascent to Leadership
Skoryk's leadership qualities were recognized, and he was appointed as the chief agronomist and deputy chairman of the collective farm. In 1971, he became chairman of the Romankovsky Rural Council.
The Druzhba Collective Farm
Transformative LeadershipIn December 1971, Skoryk took over as chairman of the Druzhba collective farm in the village of Orly, Pokrovsky district, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Under his guidance, the collective farm prospered and became a model for agricultural innovation.

Skoryk implemented modern farming techniques and introduced new forms of economic management, leading to significant growth in agricultural production and income. The Druzhba collective farm became a multi-sectoral enterprise, engaging in crop farming, animal husbandry, and food processing.

A New ChapterIn December 1999, the Druzhba collective farm was reorganized into a limited liability company (LLC). Skoryk was appointed as its general director, continuing his transformative leadership.

Druzhba LLC remained a leading agricultural enterprise under Skoryk's direction. It expanded its operations and diversified its activities, establishing itself as a major player in the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
Recognition and Honors
Hero of UkraineIn recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of Ukrainian agriculture, Skoryk was awarded the prestigious title of Hero of Ukraine in 2002. He also received two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the "Veteran of Labor" medal.
