Early Life and Education
Iza Bine was born on October 13, 1928, in Riga, Latvia, to parents who were both involved in the arts. Her father, Jekabs Bine, was a painter, while her mother, Antonija Bine, was a playwright. Her brother, Janis Bine, also became an actor.
Bine graduated from the Riga Art School in 1949 and then went on to study acting at the Dailes Theatre Studio.
Acting Career
After a brief stint with the Dailes Theatre, Bine worked as an actress at the Latvian Society of Professional Unions (1949-1959) and the Liepaja State Theatre (1959-1995).
Bine was actively involved in the folklore studio "At?taukas," which she helped organize.
Film and Folktales
In 1980, Bine appeared in the film "Evening Option" directed by Dzidra Riteneberga, where she played the role of a physics teacher.
Bine was known for her dedication to preserving Latvian folklore and traditions, and she performed in numerous folklore productions.
Personal Life
Bine was married twice, first to theater critic V alts Grevinš and then to theater worker Leon Lileiko.
Recognition and Legacy
