Isabelle Goulart is a Brazilian supermodel, best known as one of the Victoria's Secret angels from 2005 to 2008, and as the face of Armani Exchange. She was born Maria Isabelle Goulart Dourado on October 23, 1984, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to a Catholic family with Italian roots.
Early Life and Career
Isabelle Goulart once admitted that the hardest part of being a Victoria's Secret angel was being away from home, family, and her mother's cooking. In school, Goulart enjoyed having fun and fondly remembers being called a "giraffe" due to her slimness and tall height.
At the age of 14, Goulart was shopping in the grocery department of a major department store in Sao Paulo with her mother when she caught the eye of a stylist, whose name is unfortunately unknown. It was thanks to this stylist that Goulart decided to try her luck at a modeling agency casting.
Goulart's first fashion show was marred by an unpleasant incident when her top fell off on the runway, leaving her exposed. The Brazilian press called this incident the most memorable moment of the Fashion Week. However, this did not stop Goulart from participating in shows for brands such as Bill Blass, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Jill Sander, Chanel, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, and Stella McCartney.
Victoria's Secret and Continued Success
In 2005, Isabelle Goulart was invited to participate in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show for the first time. She has worked with renowned photographers such as Terry Richardson, David Sims, and Vincent Peters for covers of Vogue, French Magazine, and Numero.
Goulart is no longer an official Victoria's Secret angel since 2008, but she continues to work actively with the brand, participating in various advertising campaigns. As for her personal life, Goulart has confessed that she is currently single. In 2006, she briefly dated businessman Marcelo Costa, but they quickly went their separate ways.
Today, Isabelle Goulart is not only the face of Victoria's Secret but also Armani Exchange.
