Early Life and Career
Cory Couglin was born in Douro, Ontario, Canada. His hockey career began at the young age of 19 when he joined the junior amateur team in Peterborough for the 1909-10 season. Couglin spent four seasons with Peterborough before moving on to play for Ingersoll in Ontario and Portage Lake-Houghton in Michigan.
Professional Hockey
In 1916, Couglin turned professional with the Toronto Blueshirts. With the establishment of the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1917, he played six games for the Toronto Arenas, helping the team win the Stanley Cup that year. Couglin continued his professional career, playing for various clubs in the NHL, including the Quebec Bulldogs, Montreal Canadiens, and Hamilton Tigers.
Return to Amateurism
In 1921, Couglin decided to return to amateur hockey, but his application was denied by the Ontario Hockey Association. As a result, Couglin's professional hockey career came to an end.
Legacy
