Biography of Jack Reynor
Jack Reynor, an Irish actor born in the United States, was awarded the 'Irish Film and Television Award' for Best Male Role for his portrayal of the successful young athlete Richard Karlsen in the drama 'What Richard Did'. Jack Reynor was born on January 23, 1992, in Longmont, Colorado, United States. His mother, Tara Reynor O'Grady, is an Irish human rights activist. At the age of two, Jack moved to Valleymount, County Wicklow, Ireland. He was raised by his mother, grandmother Pat, and grandfather Damien Reynor.
Interest in Acting
Reynor developed an interest in acting after playing a choirboy in Kevin Liddy's drama 'Country' in 1999. Between 2004 and 2010, he attended Belvedere College SJ, a Jesuit boys' school in Dublin, where he performed in numerous theatrical productions.
Acting Career
In early 2010, Reynor joined the cast of Kirsten Sheridan's thriller 'Dollhouse', which premiered at the Berlinale in 2012. Towards the end of 2011, he landed the leading role of alpha male Richard Karlsen in Lenny Abrahamson's highly anticipated drama 'What Richard Did'.
