Early Career at Sheffield United
Harry Maguire was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and began his football journey at the academy of Sheffield United. He made his professional debut for the club in April 2011 against Cardiff City, and quickly established himself as a regular in the starting lineup.
In October 2011, Maguire signed a new contract with Sheffield United, extending his stay until 2015. The 2011/12 season proved to be a successful one for Maguire and the Blades, who finished 3rd in League One and reached the play-off final, narrowly losing to Huddersfield Town. Maguire's impressive performances earned him both the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards at Sheffield United, as well as a place in the League One Team of the Season.
Transfer to Hull City
Despite Sheffield United's attempts to keep Maguire on a new improved contract, he secured a move to Hull City in July 2014 for a fee of £2.5 million. Maguire struggled to break into the Hull City team initially, and in February 2015 was loaned to Wigan Athletic for the remainder of the season.
Breakout Season at Hull City
Returning to Hull City, Maguire became a regular starter and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs in 2016. His commanding performances at the heart of Hull City's defense caught the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United.
Move to Leicester City
In the summer of 2017, Maguire joined Leicester City for a club-record fee of £17 million. He quickly became a vital member of the Foxes' team, forming a formidable partnership with Wes Morgan.
International Career
Maguire made his England debut in 2017 and has since become a regular in the Three Lions squad. He was part of the England team that reached the semifinals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the final of the 2020 UEFA European Championship.
