Jacqueline McKenzie made her film and theater debut almost simultaneously in 1987. Her first film was "Wordplay" and her first theater production was "Child Dancing" at the Griffin Theatre. She gained widespread attention for her role in the film "Romper Stomper" (1992), where she starred alongside actor Russell Crowe. Following this film, Jacqueline McKenzie was hailed as Australia's most promising actress. Over the next three years, she played six roles and won four Australian Film Critics awards.
