After a year, Johnson returned to school and eventually enrolled in the University of Iowa.
During his college years, Johnson wrote the play "Cousins," which won him a scholarship and a playwriting award. He then transferred to the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City, where the screenplay was produced on Broadway.
Stand-Up Comedy and Early Film Career
In his early years, Johnson performed stand-up comedy in New York City. In the early 2000s, he moved to Los Angeles with aspirations of becoming a movie star. Initially, he struggled to find success, taking on odd jobs including extra work, waitering, and production assistant.
