Biography of James Crampols
James Crampols is an American water polo player and a participant of the 2008 Olympics. He was born on September 22, 1987, in Orange, California. Being one of the youngest water polo players in the American national team, James plays as a center.
Early Life and Education
James Crampols spent his childhood in Santa Ana, California, where he attended and graduated from high school. Inspired by his father, who was one of the best college players in the NCAA championship, James started playing water polo at a young age. He also had a passion for basketball and used to practice intensively alongside water polo. However, as time went on, James dedicated more and more time to water polo, eventually making the decision to leave basketball as his favorite activity.
After high school, James Crampols enrolled at the University of California, planning to graduate in 2010. Currently, he is a member of the sports club "LAWPC."
Sports Career
Although James Crampols has limited experience in international competitions and has rarely participated in American championships, his talent and potential were quickly recognized by renowned coaches, leading to his invitation to the national team. In 2005, he took part in the FINA World Championship in Montreal, where the American men's team finished in 11th place.
In 2007, Crampols competed in the FINA Junior Championship, achieving a 6th place finish. In 2008, he was selected to represent the United States in the Olympic team. He performed exceptionally well at the Beijing Games and brought home his first silver Olympic medal.
