Biography of Živko Gocić

Živko Gocić is a Serbian water polo player who is a member of the Serbian national team. He is an Olympic champion (2016) and a bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. Gocić is also a winner of the 2009 World Championships in Rome and the 2013 World League.

Early Career

Gocić began his career at the Partizan club in Belgrade, where he played for five years from 1998 to 2003. He then moved to the Nis club (renamed Naissus in 2011) for a year before joining Ortigia. From 2005 to 2007, he played for Dynamo Moscow before returning to his hometown club, Partizan, for three years.

Main Victories

Gocić's major victories started in 2006 when he became the European champion for the first time at the home tournament. Three years later, he became the world champion in Rome, and six years after that, he repeated this success with the national team in Kazan. At the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, he won bronze medals, and the pinnacle of his career came at the Olympic water polo tournament in Rio, where Živko Gocić became an Olympic champion with his team.
