Discovering the Spartan Race

One day, Simpson came across a series of photographs from the "Spartan Race" and immediately knew that he had found a new goal in life. Despite his previous lack of interest in running before the war, Simpson's family was not surprised by his decision. His incredible willpower and determination had already inspired them.

Preparing for the Spartan Race

Simpson's life-changing explosion occurred in November 2009. Now, four years later, he is ready to showcase what a British soldier is capable of, even in less than ideal conditions. Using specially designed running prosthetics, similar to those used in the Paralympic Games, Simpson will navigate the challenging Spartan Race course. He understands the difficulty of the race, especially with his prosthetic legs, but remains undeterred.

A Test of Willpower

Simpson is aware that the race will be a significant challenge for anyone, let alone someone with disabilities. However, he is determined to overcome all the obstacles set by the organizers. The opportunity to personally conquer such difficult challenges is the main value of the race for Simpson. He refuses any assistance, regardless of the time it takes to overcome each obstacle. His strategy is simple: never retreat and never give up.
