Jan Lašák
Early Career and NHL DraftJan Lašák is a professional Slovak ice hockey goaltender. He began his career with HKm Zvolen and was selected in the second round (65th overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
North American and Russian Stints
After playing in the minor leagues in North America, Lašák made his NHL debut with the Predators in the 2002-03 season. He then played for SKA Saint Petersburg in Russia for one season before joining HC Pardubice in the Czech Extraliga.
Championship Success and Return to Slovakia
With HC Pardubice, Lašák won the Czech championship in the 2004-05 season. In 2009, he moved to HC Košice, where he remained until signing with Russian club Atlant in December 2009. After his contract with Atlant was terminated in 2010, Lašák signed with Finnish club Jokerit.
Russian and Slovak Clubs
Returning to Russia, Lašák played for Amur Khabarovsk from 2011 to 2013. He then joined HC Spartak Moscow before returning to Slovakia with HK Dukla Trenčín.
International Career
Lašák represented Slovakia at the World Junior Championships (bronze in 1999) and World Championships (silver in 2000, gold in 2002, bronze in 2003). He also competed in the 2002 and 2006 Olympics and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.
