Early Life and CareerJan Stoklaska was born on February 7, 1983, in Prague, Czech Republic. He began actively pursuing bobsleigh in 2006 and joined the Czech national team as a brakeman. That same year, he debuted in the World Cup with Ivo Danilevich's four-man crew, finishing 16th in Calgary.
International Success
In 2007, Stoklaska made his World Championship debut in St. Moritz, Switzerland, finishing 14th in the four-man event. The following year, he achieved his best World Championship result to date, placing sixth in the two-man event with Danilevich. He also won a bronze medal in the European Cup in Igls, Austria.
2010 Winter Olympics
Stoklaska's consistent performances earned him a spot on the Czech team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He placed 13th in the two-man event and 12th in the four-man event with Danilevich, who retired after the Games.
New Partnership and Progress
Stoklaska joined Jan Vrba's team after Danilevich's retirement. However, they initially struggled to achieve significant results. In 2011, they returned to the top 20 in the World Cup and competed at the World Championships in Königssee, Germany.
Continued Improvement
The following season, Stoklaska's four-man crew ranked 18th in the overall World Cup standings. They also performed well at the World Championships in Lake Placid, placing 18th in the two-man event and 13th in the four-man event.
