Early Life and Career BeginningsBorn on November 12, 1987, in Seoul, Kim Dong-Hyun's journey into sports began at a young age. After exploring various athletic endeavors, he discovered his passion for bobsleigh in 2008. Immediately making an impression, he joined the South Korean national team as a pusher in the same year.
International Debut and Olympic Experience
In February 2009, Kim made his World Cup debut in Whistler, Canada. Competing in a two-man bobsleigh, he finished 26th. Shortly after, he made his World Championship debut in Lake Placid, USA, placing 30th in the two-man event. Notably, he also secured a bronze medal at the North American Cup that season.
Consistency and Olympic Qualification
In the 2009/10 season, Kim maintained a high level of performance, consistently finishing within the top ten in North American Cup events. His impressive results earned him a spot on the South Korean team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Competing in a four-man crew, he placed 19th.
