Biography of Jane Rosenthal
Jane Rosenthal (born September 21, 1956) is an American film producer and one of the co-founders of Tribeca Productions and Tribeca Film Center, which she created with Robert De Niro in 1988. She has established herself as a top-notch producer with a diverse portfolio of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. Rosenthal has been featured in the "Women in Showbiz" section of Variety and "Women in Entertainment" section of The Hollywood Reporter multiple times.
Early Career
Jane Rosenthal started her career in the film industry as a producer. She gained recognition for her work on the highly popular and successful comedy series "Meet The Parents" and its sequel "Meet The Fockers." Rosenthal was also responsible for the sensational box office hit "Analyze This" and its follow-up "Analyze That." She produced the critically acclaimed political satire "Wag the Dog," which was nominated for an Academy Award in 1997. Other notable films she produced include "Marvin's Room" (1996) and "About a Boy" (2002).
Recent Projects
In recent years, Rosenthal has produced several notable projects, including "What Just Happened?" directed by Barry Levinson and based on the book by producer Art Linson. She also produced "The Good Shepherd" directed by De Niro, "Rent," "House of D," "Stage Beauty," "Showtime," and "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle," among others.
Currently, Rosenthal is working on the third installment of the "Focker" series, titled "Little Fockers," as well as the projects "36" and "The Winter of Frankie Machine," in collaboration with Paramount Pictures. She is also involved in an unnamed project about the iconic musician Freddie Mercury.
Tribeca Productions and Tribeca TV
In 1992, Rosenthal and De Niro founded Tribeca TV, which started with the successful series "Tribeca" for Fox. They followed it up with the miniseries "Witness to the Mob," based on the real-life biography of Sammy "The Bull" Gravano.
In 2002, Rosenthal and De Niro launched Tribeca Theatrical, with their first project being the musical "We Will Rock You," featuring the songs of the band Queen.
