Biographical Information about Janice Pennington
Janice Pennington, an American model, was born on July 8, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, USA. She gained fame as one of the original "Barker's Beauties" on the television show "The Price Is Right" (1972-2000). In May 1971, she was also featured as the Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month.

Marriages and Tragic Loss
In 1974, Janice Pennington married renowned mountaineer Fritz Stammberger. However, just a year later, he disappeared in a restricted area near the Afghanistan border. In 1984, after Fritz's death was officially announced, Janice married writer Carlos de Abro. It was later discovered in 1992 that Stammberger had collaborated with the CIA in the region and died fighting alongside the Taliban against Soviet forces.

Mishaps on "The Price Is Right"
During her time on "The Price Is Right," Janice Pennington encountered numerous accidents and humorous incidents while presenting prizes. In 1988, she was hit by a camera and lost consciousness, resulting in a scar on her shoulder and significant limitations in her modeling career. She successfully sued the company for $1.3 million. Additionally, she had three incidents where she missed her stopping mark and crashed into a wall while driving a showcased car during the show. Another memorable event involved a refrigerator filled to the brim with items, which spilled and broke when Janice opened the door. Despite these mishaps, Janice handled them with composure and humor.
Writing and Hollywood Festival
In 1994, Janice Pennington and Carlos de Abro co-authored a book titled "Husband, Lover, Spy" about their search for Fritz. The book includes an episode related to "The Price Is Right." There was a game on the show called "Cliff Hangers," featuring a drawing of a climber ascending a cliff, falling if the contestant lost. Shortly after Fritz's disappearance, the show's host commented, "There goes Fritz!" when the climber fell. This remark caused Janice to retreat to her dressing room in tears. In 1997, Janice and Carlos founded the Hollywood Film Festival.
Departure from "The Price Is Right"
In October 2000, Janice Pennington was relieved of her duties on "The Price Is Right" after dedicating 28 years of her life to the show. At the age of 58, she was the oldest model on the show. However, some suspect that her departure was not solely due to her age but for other undisclosed reasons.
