Early Life and Career

Jaromír Hanzlík is a Czech actor who was born in Český Těšín. Despite not receiving formal acting training, he made his film debut at the age of 17 while still a student at the Jan Neruda Grammar School in Prague.

Theater Career

After graduating from high school, Hanzlík joined the Theatre on the Vineyard in Prague, where he remained as a member from 1966 to 1993. During this time, he became one of the theater's most prominent actors, gaining recognition for his versatile performances in a wide range of roles.

Film and Television

In addition to his theater work, Hanzlík also made a significant impact on film and television. He appeared in dozens of productions, including both Czech and international films. Some of his most notable roles include the title character in "Young Man and White Whale" (1973), Prince Humperdinck in "The Princess Bride" (1987), and Professor Storm in the Harry Potter film series.

Recognition and Legacy

Hanzlík's contributions to Czech cinema and theater have been widely recognized. In 1988, he was awarded the title of Merited Artist of Czechoslovakia. He has also received numerous other awards and accolades, including the Grand Prix at the Moscow International Film Festival in 1985 for his performance in "Young Man and White Whale."
