Wu is known for his distinctive feminine aesthetic and his ability to seamlessly combine elements of classic American sportswear with the luxury of elite fashion capitals around the world. The result of his work is high-quality, incredibly feminine, and undeniably memorable clothing that exudes sensuality and charm. "I create clothes for women who are not only fiercely fashionable, but also strong and feminine," says the designer.

According to Wu, the main element of all his collections is craftsmanship - almost all ideas come to him through his fascination (sometimes bordering on obsession) with small details. He presented his first ready-to-wear collection to the public in 2007, and since then he has continued to showcase new collections with enviable regularity.

Wu's creations are difficult to classify as ordinary garments - in many ways, they represent works of art, conceived by the designer's mind rather than created with needles and scissors. However, the technical aspects of clothing production have always played a crucial role for Wu. Refusing to compromise on anything other than the highest quality, he produces over 90% of his new masterpieces in New York, where there is always an abundance of skilled and professional craftsmen.

However, Wu also often relies on the services of external manufacturers. For example, the footwear and handbags he has been producing since 2011 are exclusively made in Italy, by the hands of experienced craftsmen using the finest materials and meticulously designed models.

Even the highest level of meticulousness in clothing production cannot compensate for the lack of a basic idea - a strong, stable concept that carries the very soul of the project. Wu draws his ideas from a wide range of sources. Some are inspired by the classic series of photographs by Guy Bourdin, others by the creations of Charles James and Jacques Fath.

Many valuable ideas have come to Wu through his travels - he has traveled extensively in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Finally, works of art have been a valuable source of inspiration - in particular, the works of Rene Gruau and Helmut Newton.

Jason Wu's family settled in Vancouver when he was only 9 years old. It was here that he began to study fashion, learning to sew, sketch prototypes of new designs, and develop his first dresses. He used ordinary dolls as his first mannequins.

Wu spent a year at school in Paris before moving to New York, where he enrolled in the elite Parsons School of Design. Successfully completing the course, Jason quickly began to apply his skills in practice and soon established himself as an extremely talented designer.

At the age of 31, Jason Wu has already achieved impressive results. His collections are sold worldwide, and his garments are worn by some of the world's most famous women, such as Michelle Obama, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Diane Kruger, Kerry Washington, and Christy Turlington.

Wu is regularly honored with various fashion awards - in July 2008, he reached the final of the "CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund" competition. In June 2010, he was awarded the Swarovski Prize at the "CFDA Fashion Awards."
