Early Life and Career
Jason Terdiman was born on December 21, 1988, in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He began luge at the age of 17 and joined the US national team in 2006.
Junior Successes
As a junior, Terdiman partnered with Christopher Mazdzer. In 2007, they won the US Junior National Championships. At the World Junior Championships, they earned a bronze in doubles and a silver in mixed team. In 2008, Terdiman won gold in the team relay at the World Junior Championships in Lake Placid, while placing second in the two-man sled.
Transition to Senior Competition
In 2011, Terdiman made his senior World Championships debut in Cesana alongside Christian Niccum, finishing 11th. He also finished 10th in the World Cup standings that season. At the 2012 World Championships in Altenberg, he again finished 11th and rose to number 7 in the world rankings.
Olympic Debut
Terdiman competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He placed 11th in the men's doubles and 6th in the mixed relay.
Personal Life
Terdiman resides in Berwick, Pennsylvania. Outside of luge, he enjoys playing baseball, basketball, soccer, frisbee, and snowboarding. His favorite music group is Pearl Jam, and his favorite book is "The Chronicles of Narnia."
