Jean Crespin

Jean Crespin was a prominent figure in the field of church history and publishing. Initially, he practiced law in Arras and later in Paris. However, influenced by Theodore de Beza, he embarked on a journey to study theology and relocated to Geneva.
Literary Contributions
Crespin's most renowned works include "History of the Church from the Apostolic Times" ("L'histoire de l'eglise depuis les Ap?tres"), published in 1562, and "Book of Martyrs" ("Martyrologe"), which had multiple editions starting in 1564. These publications gained widespread recognition and became important references in their respective fields.
Publishing Endeavors
In addition to his own writings, Crespin established himself as a notable publisher. He released a substantial collection of religious and scientific literature, contributing significantly to the dissemination of knowledge and ideas during the Reformation era.
