American actor Jeffrey Duncan Jones was born on September 28, 1946. Early Life and Education
Jeffrey Jones was born in Buffalo, New York, to art historian Ruth Skully and Douglas Bennett Jones. His mother encouraged him to pursue a career in the arts, which led him to enroll at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 1969. After completing his studies, he spent three years working at the Stratford Festival in Ontario.
Career
Jeffrey Jones began his acting career in the late 1970s, taking on small roles in film and television. He then landed a supporting role in Rodney Dangerfield's film 'Easy Money' (1983). A brief appearance in the series 'Remington Steele' helped him secure the role of Emperor Joseph II in 'Amadeus', a role originally intended for Ian Richardson. Jones received a Golden Globe award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the emperor.
